First of all the graphics look wonderful, the whole layout of the game looks commercial and professional. The game is much like SimCity in its layout but combines a whole bunch of other features. You start off with the basic building blocks for your planet, residential units, food generators, etc. But you can put funds toward developing new buildings (law centres, commerce centres, docking ports), space ships (probes, battle crusiers, dimplomatic vessles), and even weapon and shielding updates. Soon you will build up your planet, with aid from your advisor who instructs you what your citizens want. After your planet will hold no more buildings, it's time to take to the sky and kick some alien butt (or if you want to, make peace with all of them and do some trading with transport ships, but what fun is that?). So I make some probes and send them on thier way across the galaxy to find some alien inhabited planets to nuke (you'll have to make some observatories to discover new planets). I also build a huge fleet of battle cruisers and send them around the galaxy to kill some stuff.
Alright, I've given you a very brief desciption of what the game is, but it's much more involved than that. You'll have to handle diplomatic relations with all the other races, update your ships with new weapons, shields, and cargo holds, protect your planet from alien invasions, make sure your populous is fed and maintained, and many other things . The game is completely addictive, you'll spend days playing this. I strongly suggest registering this to, because you get many more options. Like being able to inhabite and manage more than one planet, scenarios, a intro with cool gfx, your name inscribed in the game, and a whole bunch of other goodies. This game takes the best things from SimCity and Stars! (Windoze game, eek!) and crams it into one extremly addictive game. Breed 96 is wonderful, one of the best PD games I've seen this year, you have to play this game to fully understand what I mean.
